Community Guidelines

At Travel Minded Book Retreats, we create spaces that are calm, inclusive, and nourishing. Places where readers can rest, connect, and feel at ease. These guidelines exist to help everyone enjoy the retreat and to ensure our shared space feels safe and respectful for all.

By joining a Travel Minded Book Retreat, you agree to the following:

Our Shared Values

We believe retreats work best when everyone shows up with:

  • Kindness and consideration

  • Respect for different backgrounds, identities, and experiences

  • Openness, curiosity, and a non-judgemental attitude

  • Care for shared spaces and the people within them

Respecting Each Other

Please:

  • Treat fellow guests, staff, and venue teams with courtesy and respect

  • Honour personal boundaries, quiet time, and different social needs

  • Avoid behaviour that could make others feel uncomfortable, unsafe, or excluded

Harassment, discrimination, aggressive behaviour, or inappropriate conduct will not be tolerated.

Shared Spaces & Quiet Time

Our retreats are designed with rest and reflection in mind.

  • Be mindful of noise levels, especially in shared accommodation and reading areas

  • Respect any designated quiet hours

  • Leave communal spaces tidy and welcoming for others

Participation & Activities

  • Join activities at your own pace — everything is optional

  • Only take part in activities you feel comfortable with

  • Respect different levels of participation and energy

There is no pressure to socialise, share, or perform — your retreat experience is yours.

Health, Safety & Wellbeing

  • Follow all health and safety guidance provided by the retreat team

  • Inform us of any medical needs or accessibility requirements in advance

  • Take responsibility for your own wellbeing, rest, and boundaries

Alcohol, Substances & Behaviour

  • Please consume alcohol responsibly, where permitted by the venue

  • Illegal substances are not permitted at any retreat

  • Behaviour that compromises safety or the comfort of others will be addressed

Photography, Privacy & Social Media

  • Always ask for consent before photographing or recording others

  • Respect any request not to appear in photos or social media content

  • Be thoughtful about what you share publicly to protect the privacy of the group

Looking After Our Spaces

  • Treat accommodation, venues, and natural surroundings with care

  • Any damage caused by a guest remains their responsibility

  • Follow venue rules and local regulations

If Issues Arise

If something doesn’t feel right:

  • Speak to a member of the Travel Minded team as soon as possible

  • We will listen, support, and act where appropriate

Travel Minded reserves the right to intervene where behaviour impacts the safety, wellbeing, or enjoyment of others. In serious cases, this may include removal from activities or from the retreat without refund.

A Final Word

Our goal is to create retreats that feel calm, restorative, and deeply enjoyable. These guidelines help protect that experience for everyone.

Thank you for being part of the Travel Minded community — we’re so glad you’re here.
